Building I would like to visit 1: Tatlin's Tower

Tatlin's Tower at the Royal Academy, London (2011)
Ink Pen on Paper

There is a definite contrast between the sculpture here at the Royal Academy in London and the featured sculpture. Contrast in building materials, construction methods, style of architecture, even the ideologies and minds behind each one. It is this contrast that makes it such a striking object within the city of London. One may suggest this promotes a sense of tolerance and acceptance of cultures, but ultimately it is still a exhibit. Hidden within a courtyard that is the Royal Academy, dominated by its gatehouse and academy behind, it simply illustrates the inevitable human tendency - however unhealthy, to alienate and distance ourselves from different cultures and ideologies, despite efforts to understand and relate to them.
